How to Troubleshoot Zelle Error Code A101

If you are using the Zelle app and out of nowhere you witness the Zelle Error Code A101, then it’s nothing to worry about. This error doesn’t hint at something major. The error occurs when site can’t trust your device to log in or make a transaction. Mostly this happens because you are using a different number than the one that was registered. Another scenario that might occur is using a Wi-Fi connection on your mobile devices.

How To Fix Zelle Sign-in Error Code: A101?

The first and foremost thing to remember while fixing the error is to try login to Zelle with the registered mobile number. If you have made any changes to your mobile number or plan then this could be the triggering of the issue. Another thing to keep a note of is Zelle doesn’t support VoIP numbers (such as Google Voice, Google Fi, TextNow, or Republic Wires.)

  • Use Cellular Data instead of Wi-Fi
  • One of the most occurring and simple ways to fix the Error for A101 is to switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data.
  • Close the Zelle app and remove it from the recently used apps bar.

  • Switch off Wi-Fi mode and enable Mobile data.
  • Open the app again and check if the problem persists.

In most cases, the solution does work as Zelle doesn’t support Wi-Fi networks in some cases and requires cellular data usage.

Reshuffle SIM Cards (for Dual SIM Phones)

For users using dual SIM mobile phones, this solution may work. If you have recently changed the SIM slots and shifted the registered number to a different slot then this can cause a Zelle Error Code A101,.

  • Switch off your mobile devices and take out both the SIM cards.
  • Now put the registered SIM into the primary slot.
  • Switch on your device and select the registered SIM as the primary number.
  • Relaunch the Zelle app and check if the issue gets resolved.
  • Even if you didn’t change the SIM slots, try pulling out the registered SIM, cleaning it softly with a soft cloth, and putting it in again.

Reinstall the App

A bad installation of an app may also trigger the A101 error. To clean reinstall, see below:

  • Uninstall the app from your device.
  • Now restart your phone.
  • Reinstall the Zelle app
  • Again try Zelle login with the registered number.

Even after changing the mobile data setting the problem persists, then try creating a new account with the same phone number. Sign in with your new phone number to use the app.

Use Through Your Banking App

After trying all the methods are you still witnessing the same problem? Then try using the app through your bank’s mobile app. 

Additional Tips

  • Make sure that your address in the app exactly matches the billing address.
  • Keep a check on the linked bank card, if it’s activated or not.
  • Try to send the money under the transfer limit only.
